The Europe Trip: Rome As Seen in a Day

Rome! One of my favorite cities that I have ever visited and one that I would visit again in a heartbeat! With pieces of history literally at every corner, beautiful architecture, delicious food and designed for easy walking, what is not to love?

We finally made it to Rome, rolling in on a train around 11:30 pm. So we picked a hostel close to the train station, which happened to be pretty groovy. Circle beds anyone?

We got up super early, so we could fit in as much as possible for a full 24 hours in Rome. And boy did we ever! After an espresso and pastry, we headed out on our feet to see what this ancient city had to offer.

From ruins around every corner, to multiple gelato stops, to hours spent in the Colisuem and Roman Forum, to randomly stumbling onto the Trevi Fountain and making a special wish, to chilling on the Spanish Steps and to eating delicious pizza, Rome did not disappoint!

One the things that we loved most about Rome was that we could easily walk to all the places that we wanted to see. We literally walked around Rome in a day, and it led to some of the best sight seeing. This also let us stumble onto random sights easily and most importantly…gelato shops! I really recommend walking as much as possible when in Rome.

Our time in Rome was one of the most enjoyable on the entire trip. I say this a lot, but I REALLY cannot wait to go back to there. We had so much fun in that short amount of time, and this is when the joy of travelling really started to sink in. So for that, Rome will always hold a special place in my heart.
