So our next big destination was Carcassone, France. In order to get there, we had to take ALOT of trains. The first part of the journey was Verona-Venice-Milan and then an overnight train to Barcelona, and then another THREE trains to our destination, but I’ll get there. For now, what we did do is enjoy a small 3 hours train layover in Venice!
At this point, we were pretty tuckered from seeing the tourist sights, and while I am sure we could have jammed a lot in those three hours, we just wanted to relax. So instead we did a bit of shopping, grabbed some delicious pizza and gelato (of course) and sat on some steps by the canals while soaking up the sun.
It was a GREAT time. We all needed that chill out, and it turns out we needed more then just those three hours (more on that next) but anyway, it was a perfect little layover. We even had some fun making a video starring all the pigeons, and that pizza was the best we had yet. It was a lovely way to end our time in Italy.
Sometimes you just gotta relax!
