On my second day in Iceland I booked a “Golden Circle” tour through Reykjavik Excursions, where once again they pick you up from your hotel and drop you off. The tour overall was good, it was nice to be driven around and get a little information on all the sites we saw. The biggest benefit to going on a tour was getting to meet some fun people to spend the day with 🙂
The Golden Circle in Iceland relates to three common sights around the countryside including : Geysir, Gullfoss Waterfalls and Thingvellir National Park. Along with a little stop at an organic tomato and cucumber farm.
The Geysir was entertaining to watch as it was pretty random as to when it went off and how high it was going to be!
The Gullfoss Falls were my favourite part, they looked really magical, even with out the infamous rainbow!
We also got the chance to see a giant glacer in this location as well.
Thingvellir National Park was neat to see and visit, kind of cool to see the tectonic plate, you can even snorkel here and be snorkelling in “two places at once”! Something to add to my list for next time, maybe.
I quite enjoyed my Golden Circle tour. But now I want to see even more of Iceland and cannot wait to go back!
