October I got back to reading a classic which was so so good, and also read a book inspired from going to a musical.
Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald: I love Scott Fitzgerald books, and have made my way through quite a bit of his collection. I think Tender is the Night is one of my favourites! Something about the innocence of Rosemary, and the confused and crumbling world of the Divers resonated with me, I could not put the book down. The characters stories play out well and the ending is to be expected of a Fitzgerald novel.
Wicked (The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West) by Gregory Maguire: After watching Wicked the Musical, I decided to read the book that inspired the musical. Wow, is it so different! Not at all what I was expecting. The light heartedness of the musical is replaced by violence and darkness in the novel. The base of the story is the same but of course the novel goes into much more depth. While it is interesting, it is not necessarily my cup of tea and I will not be sad to be finished the book.
That is all for this month!
