The Balkan Tour Part Seven: Budva

Budva. The strangest place I have ever been!

Budva is essentially a resort town, catering towards tourists from Russia. I am quite confident we were the only group of tourists that spoke English in our massive resort. (I am not saying this as a prejudice, it just surprised me that was all!) Also got that familiar feeling of being unwated once again.

The hotel we stayed at was a resort with everything you can imagine a resort offers – including medicore food.  And the town was this odd mix of clubs and kid activities and restaurants and shop.

But what it was good for was having a rest day. So chilled by the pool then napped then walked into old town then napped and then had a candlelit beach dinner then had an early night. Budva gave me a lot of much needed sleep.

I wish I had more to say about Budva. It was not a horrible stay there, we did have a fun night of dancing in the clubs and as I said, getting some chill time was great. However, I feel like I would have enjoyed Montenegro so much more in another location. Maybe I will re visit the country and experience another destination in the future.

  1. I lik your idea of travelling the Balkan and discovering some places off the beaten track. Montenegro for example is a country I definitely want to visit rather sooner than later. Thanks for your lovely impressions 🙂
