If there is one thing that the UK does not have a shortage of it is castles and palaces. Hampton Court Palace turned out to be one of my favourite ones to visit, and it is just a short train ride away from central London. Such a fun place!
Hampton Court was once home to The Tudors and the infamous Henry VIII! You can tour the kitchens – which are set up with food displays and even a roaring fire.
There are also all the royal apartments to tour which feature furniture from the era and art galleries throughout as well.
I found the palace to be interactive throughout and interesting to explore.
My favourite part was easily the gardens, which were vast and varied. Between relaxing in the sun on a bench by a fountain, or getting lost in a maze – I could have spent the afternoon just there!
Hampton Court Palace is such an easy and enjoyable day out, it should definately be on your London bucket list.
