Summer Adventures: Lisbon

After my time in Morocco, I will be honest in saying that I was relieved to be landing back in Europe. I was quite sick from the trip, and I was almost stuck at the airport due to an overbooked flight. So landing in pretty and relaxing Lisbon was a sight for sore eyes. It was very easy to appreciate its beauty and atmosphere.

It was also great to be reunited with a fellow Canadian in Lisbon, Marie! We spent our couple of days visiting the castle and wandering the pretty streets, having fun riding the historical tram, and enjoying some time by the sea. The castle was the main sight to see, and it offered amazing views all around the city. My favourite part was watching the sunset over the sea.

While in Lisbon I stayed at Poets Hostel, which was was ok. It was really comfortable and great location, but the staff were not very accommodating and because it was overbooked there was a toddler in our dorm room. It did not make for the most comfortable atmosphere. I would want to try staying here again though as I think it was a one off strange situation.

I would recommend visiting Lisbon if you are looking for somewhere to relax, enjoy some lovely walks along the ocean and many coffee breaks.
