The “24 Hours in Paris Bucket List” Trip

Paris is a city I could return to over and over again. There is always something (or many things) left to see after a visit there. This time around, on my third visit, Calais and I went for a very quick 24 hour “Bucket List” trip.

These bucket list items included:

Overpriced (think $30) cappuccino and pastry while people watching in Montmartre, check.

Seeing the Moulin Rouge show and having the full dinner and champagne experience, check. The show was INCREDIBLE and the dinner was amazing. This experience was literally worth every penny (and there were a lot of them). I highly recommend taking this in when visiting Paris. Everything about the show was high quality.

Visiting the catacombs and waiting 3 hours in line, check. So not worth it. If you must see the catacombs, pay the extra euro to get a skip the line pass. It was actually a 3 hour wait, and we showed up near opening time. We only spent maybe 45 minutes in the actual catacombs, and after a few minutes, the hype wore off.

Purchasing and consuming macaroons from Laduree, check. The whole experience of finding the shop, and selecting our macaroons and packaging, was unlike anything else. I can’t wait to go back! Oh and they were super delicious.

While in Paris for the night, we stayed at La Regeant right in Montmartre which was great. It was a cozy space with comfy beds, and a great location to experience a different side of Paris. It is steps away from the Red Light District, so best to keep that in mind when booking and ensuring your travel safety.

All in all, this was an epic 24 hours in Paris. As always, we did not get to everything we wanted to see. So I guess that means I have to go back. Paris is always a good idea right? 😉
